BUSING RELOCATION LETTER

Dear Parents
Pedestrian safety is an ongoing concern at our schools. As bus supervisors, we have seen many violations that have caused us distress. Recently we attended a meeting where stakeholders presented ideas to promote and insure pedestrian safety. One of the ideas presented was to move the bus drop off and pick up area to the back (East side) of the school, and to move the student pick-up to the front (West side) of the school. After considerable discussion and analysis of the various proposals, we felt this change was worth a trial run.
Starting Monday, June 14th until Friday June 25th, we have asked the bus drivers to drop-off and pick-up the children on the East side of the school. We ask you as parents to please park anywhere on the West side of the school to drop off and pick-up your children. At the end of the school year we will look at the input we have received, to determine whether this arrangement is something we would like to continue next September.
We realize that for the most part everyone is careful and considerate, but we would hate for an accident to happen and not think we have done everything in our power to prevent it.
